The handbrake cables on a Gen 1 Vanquish are anchored by some rather narrow ears welded to the rear subframe.
The bearing surface between the cable and subframe is very narrow and often causes the ears to bend or splay. This renders the handbrake (even more) useless and the ears are almost impossible to access with the subframe fitted to the car.
These shims are designed to slip over the handbrake cable, with no modifications, then both prevent and repair damage to the mounting ears.
The simple theory is that the shims transmit the handbrake forces to the subframe over a much larger flat surface, thus preventing the cable from pulling through and spreading the ears.
These are machined from billet aluminium and anodised black to ensure durability. Sold as a pair.
These fit the later type of handbrake cable. If your car has its original cable these will NOT fit.
The easiest way to check is that the original cable has 2 cable adjusters, one at each caliper. The later cable has 1 cable adjuster located on the passenger side above the top suspension arm.
