There is a known common issue across nearly all models of modern era Aston Martins.
This is that the brake fluid reservoir degrades so much that it becomes brittle and cracks or splits. This allows both the highly corrosive brake fluid to leak out, and water to get in. Both circumstances are bad!
The reservoir is made from polypropylene which is the industry norm, yet most other vehicles, including the donors for our Aston Martins don't seem to suffer.
After several discussions, a key member of AstonOwners discovered the cause... UV light.
Cue the holes in the bonnet that make these cars so alluring!
Not only do they let hot air out, they let damaging UV rays in.
These parasols are designed to shield and protect the reservoir whilst also improving the aesthetics of the engine bay. Who doesn't like engine bay bling?
This suits both LHD and RHD cars.
CNC cut and bent from 5251 aluminium, then anodised black to protect from corrosion and look the part!
We have also added viewing windows on the sides so you can check the fluid level without removing the parasol.
These are a simple fit; clean the reservoir, remove the filler cap, place the parasol over the reservoir, refit cap and admire your Aston Martin V12!
